Ok,
so the prototype is done.
From the top to bottom,
it has:
Uniden BC-895XLT scanner,
Kenwood TM-541A 23cm two-way radio,
Yaesu 2m/70cm two-way radio,
Icom IC-75 HF receiver,
Radio Shack Pro-2096 digital scanner,
Kinetic SBS-1 MODE-S receiver,
Unidex BC-780 XML scanner,
Astron 35A 12v power supply with meters.
I learned a lot with the prototype,
like it should be a little wider.
But it's mostly what I want,
and the kittens aren't going to have fun with wires anymore.
A bunch of stuff also wound up in there:
any power brick I could hide,
a 4-port USB hub,
an 8-port serial port deal so that all the radios
can get programmed,
two 4-port mono mixers for the output of all the radios,
each pair going into a 'clean-up box' that has two mono
channels that then go into the laptop as a "stereo" feed.
There is also a 12-port 12v power strip that runs everything
that is 12v,
plus plans for a power backup battery scheme that
will be the subject of another page.
